TV SPONSORSHIPS
'V' had sponsored TV programmes in the past, but for the first time in 2001, 'V' provided the dosh / spendoolies / cash for two NZ-made TV programmes to go to air.
Back of the Y - 2001
This show is best described by its creators – Matt Heath and Chris Stapp.
"Back of the Y masterpiece Television smashed on to New Zealand screens September 2001 and nothing will ever be the same again. It's mix of moronic action, stunts and humour were an instant hit with kids up and Down the country. Randy Cambell, Danny Parker and Spanners Watson have rightly earned their place amongst the all time NZ Televsion greats. More recently they pulled off an amazing coup when they went international hocking thier show to MTV UK. But none of this would have been possible if V hadnt paid for every last cent. Without V there would have been no burning monkeys, No Hollywood Special and no broken bones." - Matt Heath.

MO Show- 2001
Back in 2001, our favourite "has-been" rapper-sons Otis Frizzell and Mark Williams took a look at the highlife and lowlife of a road trip that spanned two continents and unearthed Kiwis making it big (and small) in the far-flung reaches of the world.
You can hear more of Otis and Mark on Auckland's bfm – click here.
Arts Whole - 2000
Matt Heath and Chris Stapp hit the reasonably large time with a series of 6 minute segments on TVNZ's SPACE TV show. Showcasing their ability to yell a story better than your average fuckwit newsreader, these two brave lads showed how it really is in the arts scene.
Never mind the grey haired approach to theatre – these guys tackled the big issues: who is the pervert behind the Incredible Film Festival, why do people pay so much for Otis Frizzell's filth, and which delivers better – internet pornography, or the trusty stick mag from the local newsagent.
See the forerunner of that steaming heap of NZ-on-Air-funded "Great Art Trip". The original and still the best!
